The water sector has seen many examples of flooding from extreme weather events over the past few years. These are occurring more frequently and in places that have not been impacted previously. This learning module presents several examples from
utilities who have implemented measures to protect their facilities from these extreme events. At the conclusion of this learning module, participants will be able to: describe mitigation strategies used at other water treatment recovery facilities;
give examples of successful tools to reduce the impact of floods at their facilities; and recognize the potential strategies that can be adapted to their needs.
